Snow, Snow, Snow

Snow, Snow, Snow
Yes, I love snow! I love to bundle up with a hat, warm gloves and boots and go outside. I love the crisp air on my face, the snowflakes falling through the air, the crunch under your boots. I love the smell of pine trees, someones fire. I love to ski, ride my horse in the snow, Snowmobiling is a blast and our new winter adventure is snowshoeing. I love snow for Christmas! I do love snow, I do, I do!!!!
Christmas Day! All the presents were opened. Family had come and gone. We were high on the holiday and an abundance of sugar so we headed outside to make a snowman. Our very own Snowzilla. We started at 5:00 p.m. and finished an hour later. It actually rained on us while we were making Snowzilla. We figured she stood 15 ish feet tall. We didn't make the newspaper but we had a lot of fun!
Neigh, Neigh, We love snow!

Here it is....Morgan's brainchild

The colors were hard to capture, so I hope you can get an idea of her room!
The first picture is probably the close'est to what I think of when I remember her room. But light has a way of changing things and so does my memory. I was looking at some pictures of ocean water and it really does resemble the ocean, thus, Kevin has nicknamed her room the aquarium. I love it!

And here is a picture of some of our yard enhancements.
Missing trees lining the driveway, there now stands a row of soldiers, which I am going to put trolls and flower pots on as soon as Kevin levels the stumps. I miss the trees and so I have planted 6 new pine trees in various locations around our yard and an assortment of bushes that will fill in between the soldiers. The trees are baby size and will take another 15 years to get big, but they are in the dirt.

Then we eliminated the built in speed bumps in our driveway by paving it. Sweet, no more dirt and mud on our high heels. But now the girls sneak in and out of the driveway. I feel like Lightning McQueen has paid a visit.

And lastly, a new addition to the garage. As soon as this baby is running, I am entering in the Riverton parade and I need some passengers to dress up as hippies. I think we can sit 10 of us. I will be recruiting as soon as I hear the engine turn over. Peace out, baby! So Kevin, work away, The 4th of July is in 7 month, give or take a few days!

Thanksgiving

I'm Thankful for beautiful fall weather and dinner that is late enough in the day that we could enjoy the outdoors before gathering with family.

We started the day with a delightful ride in Dimple Dell Park. The weather was great. Not too cold and the sun was peaking out from the clouds just enough to keep us warm and turn our cheeks a little rozy. The Preston's came along for our adventure.
I am Thankful for a Red Tail Hawk, that awed us by circling over our heads, then gliding back into the tree we were standing under, to look us over, than taking flight again and flying away.

I'm Thankful for family dinners, food enough too loosen our belts, a little hugging, a little laughing, sharing of stories, new recipes to try, new friends to share the evening, family coming in from out of town and pie. Our favorites are pumpkin, lemon merinque, coconut cream, pumpkin cheese cake. Is there a pie that doesn't make your mouth water, and your taste buds cry for more. (Maybe rhubarb or gooseberry! Sorry Dad! I know these are some of your favorites!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wedding planning update....

Well last Friday, Jamie booked the entire day to look at reception centers, dresses and meet with the photographer. How about a garden location in March?

Yesterday, I finished and ordered the guest book. I downloaded the pictures that we have to snapfish and had a book made. That took some time, but it was fun. The bride and groom kept looking over my shoulder and adding their requests, even though I kept telling them this is my book and I like this layout and this picture. I had to listen, cause that's just what you do when you are creating a book of new love.

And here is a wedding dress sneak preview. (If we posted the actual pictures of the dress. We would spoil the wow factor for Adam. So this will have to do until March 14th.) Yes, Morgan got some skin while snapping a button. Thank goodness it wasn't a zipper.

Then to add a little fun, Morgan tried on a cute purple dress. Can you dig the sock?
That was last Friday, Then Saturday, we drove to Moab. While Kevin looked at a VW bus and picked up a couple more teepee poles. Jamie, Adam, Morgan and I went hiking up Negro Bill Canyon. Perfect day for a hike. Cool, but not freezing when we stopped for lunch. Warm, but not desert hot.

What a great place to live. In 3 1/2 hours you can be in Moab, home of the Redrock. Beautiful, beautiful.

Three best things:
1. Driving to Moab, well sleeping to Moab while Kevin drove, then Kevin dropping us off for this hike, while he went shopping :). Enjoying the outdoors, with people you love, able to have a laugh or too, feel the sunshine on your face, see such diversity in the desert. Sit on a rock and eat lunch while watching other people enjoying the area, hiking below us. And then driving, ok, sleeping again while Kevin drove:) home. All in one day!

2. The bride to be, who is organizing the days events and making my check writing a little easier. She is doing an awesome job getting on top of things and dealing with the already dish a little stress out decisions. I'm glad we have 4 months.

3. Painting Jamie and Morgan's bedroom with Morgan has been a blast. We have spent a lot of time prepping, moving stuff out, getting up at 5:30 to paint and some nights staying up until midnight. We are to the final stretch. Packing up the stuff they haven't used in a year and finding some curtains. Then I will take some photo's and show you Morgan's brain child. I never would have picked these colors and I love the finished product.

When you go out on the streets tonight, you better not go alone!

You might run into some scary dudes!

Or some really cute, not so scary, peewee spooks , and a few big spooks!

But whatever you do this Halloween. Get lots of sugar, not just a little, but lots and lots! and then come by my house to share. My favorite is chocolate, skittles and starburst!
Happy Trick or Treating!
