Salute to the last 28 years of Motherhood!

In the beginning…,
Bottles, blankets, binkies, Sleepless nights!
Diapers, rattles, pins, Holding baby tight!
Strollers, cribs, walkers, Lots of work to do!
Sleeping, eating, bathing, It was all brand new!

A short time was all it took….
Crawling, scooting, rolling, Places to explore!
Cupboards, purses, boxes, Empty out the drawers!
Cereal, bananas, oatmeal, Food covering their face!
Peaches, squash, spaghetti, Thrown all over the place!

In the blink of an eye….
Walking, running, twirling, Look how they move!
Singing, hugging, caring, Finding their own groove!
Flowers, puppies, birthdays, Songs for every occasion!
Dancing, swimming, piano, Lessons we have chosen!

Then school begins….
Pencils, paper, scissors, Homework starts out easy!
Plays, parades, show and tell, In the audience is Mommy!
Spanish, music, pottery, Classes that are cool!
Dances, fund raisers, clubs, Staying after school!

Little bumps along the way….
Arms, fingers, thumbs and head, A few things they broke!
Xrays, stitches, shots, It’s Just a little poke!
Colds, fevers, chicken pox, Fix with medicine!
Car, bike and horse crashes, Teach them powerful lessons!

Girls are brave and bold….
Bikes, scooters, roller skates, The fun is just beginning!
Camping, boating, skiing, Invest in Sunscreen Company!
Bungee jumping, parachuting, Make your dreams come true!
Teepees, hunting, river running, What else can they do?

Moving right along…
College, jobs, and brand new cars, Responsibility they are taking!
Boyfriends, road trips, airplane rides, Adventures in the making!
School and new son-in-laws, Caused them to move away!
Phones, emails, visits, Help us keep in touch each day!

But wait….
Babies, children, teenagers, adults, Time moved very briskly!
Watching, listening, spending time, Was where I wanted to be!
Rewarding, challenging, no regrets, I would do it all again!
Bottles, blankets, binkies, Wow, is it time for grandchildren?

I love you mom. You're so stinkin' creative. Thanks for always being our support system, loving, teaching and playing right along with us.
